A Unique Bar and Restaurant
During World War II the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel’s cellar was one of the largest air raid shelters for local residents. In 2012 we decided to convert this large and generally unused space into a contemporary, visually impressive restaurant, bar & function room.
With stunning vintage lighting, exposed brick walls, unusual decorations and a fantastic cask ale & cocktail bar, this venue is absolutely unique in Barrow and South Cumbria. Alongside the modern, urban interior design sits a delight in all things Barrovian. Scattered across the venue’s walls is the story of Barrow’s glorious past with original photographs, newspaper cuttings and memorabilia.
The Vaults is a fantastic blend of modern, urban design alongside the pride of a century of Barrow’s achievements.
