The Vaults
The Vaults is a hidden subterranean treasure.
The Vaults is a unique restaurant and bar housed in the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel’s cellar that was once one of the largest air raid shelters for local residents during World War II. Converted in 2012, the space is now an impressive, contemporary restaurant, bar and function room with a fantastic blend of modern, urban design set alongside the pride of a century of Barrow’s achievements.
The bar’s stunning vintage lighting, exposed brick walls and unique decorations sit alongside original photographs, newspaper cuttings and memorabilia of Barrow’s glorious past in this fantastic restaurant and cask ale and cocktail bar.
The Vaults restaurant seats 60 people and is only open on Friday and Saturday evenings.
