We’ve been working with Steven Doherty at our gastropub The Mill at Ulverston. Steven is now turning his attention to the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel as well, where he is overseeing the creation of a fabulous new menu with a team of talented chefs.
Steven has an incredible CV, most notably being the first Briton in history to run a three-starred Michelin restaurant and winning every accolade possible.
Moving to Cumbria in the 1990s, Steven enjoyed national praise whilst running The Brown Horse in Winster, before purchasing The Punch Bowl in Crosthwaite, which became one of the most highly decorated and acclaimed gastropubs in the UK, gathering a host of local and national awards.
For our diners we offer a fantastic a’ la carte menu supplemented with seasonal specials. Our functions range from simple buffets up to fantastic fine dining, our kitchen team are vastly experienced and should there be any special requirements please do not hesitate to ask.
